1. Panasonic Close Curves Electric Shaver for Ladies ES2216PC
This versatile all-in-one shaver is designed for the entire body, but its shape is perfect for getting into the curves of the bikini line and it’s built to minimize the nicks and bumps most all-purpose shavers will leave.
Versatile, Water Proof and Hypo-Allergenic
The Panasonic Wet/Dry shaver makes it to the top of the list because of its versatility and its rechargeable nature. A small, discrete charger means you’ll always be ready to shave, wherever or whenever you need to.
The device can also be completely submerged, so if you feel like shaving your legs in the bath, you absolutely can. While this is a much wider razor than other bikini trimmers, it has a few key features that puts it leagues above the rest; it comes with four floating blades/foils, which means pivoting into the delicate curves of the bikini line will be no problem.
The actual shaver head of the Pansonic ES 2216C pivots as well, in and out and side to side, which further adds to the flexibility and comfort of this razor. Panasonic has another model, the ES 2207P (link to Amazon), with only three floating heads and without the pivoting head, that is slightly cheaper. Groom+Style would recommend you spend the few extra dollars, if possible for your budget, on the ES 2216C – you will not be disappointed.
The razor is also hypo-allergenic, meaning you’ll deal with fewer reactions, and, finally, it comes complete with a bikini trimmer that will help you trim down those delicate spots, where a close shave would otherwise end in razor bumps.
Agile and Flexible
At first,\ you’ll a bit wary of using it near the pubic area, because its head is much wider than most bikini trimmers. Don’t be scared, though; the four floating blades allow the ES2216PC to easily swivel and pivot around the curves of your body while the sharp blades will make easy work of the hair that’s often left behind by small bikini line trimmers.
When it gets time to get really close to the sensitive spots, though, there’s also a pop-up trimmer to take out the stray hairs, and a bikini trimmer attachment which can deal with the actual bikini line when you get to the tight spots where you probably won’t feel comfortable using the larger razor.
Because of the wider head, you can also use this model to take care of your underarms, legs or other areas which might need shaving; that way, you won’t need two separate razors on hand whenever you hit the shower for your regular clean-up routine – a real benefit if you do a lot of traveling.
It really is a one-stop shop for hair removal. This single, lightweight (about a third-of-a-pound) razor and trimmer will take care of everything, even difficult areas like behind the knees, because of its pivoting blades. And yes, the shaver is a wet/dry model and completely submergible, another nice touch.
The Panasonic Close Curves is completely hypoallergenic, ensuring that there won’t be any lasting irritation or rashes when you’re finished shaving even if you have sensitive skin. And the design of the shaver, with its pop-up and bikini trimmers, means you won’t end up with the razor burn or bumps you’d get when trying to use any other “multi-purpose” shaver in sensitive areas.
When thinking about a bikini razor or trimmer, you might picture a tiny manual shaver that can be tucked away anywhere. However, the Panasonic is (in our opinion) a better choice; it’s still small, but also has a rechargeable battery with a tiny charger. You won’t have to constantly buy new manual trimmers and you can take the Close Curves with you anywhere you go.
Panasonic has been a leader in the razor market for many years, and they hit the nail on the head with this wet/dry number.
If you are looking for a razor that can get multiple jobs done, then this is the one you’ll want to pick up. Plus, it is discrete and easy to travel with, if you regularly travel for business or pleasure. Specifications of the Panasonic Close Curves Electric Shaver for Ladies ES2216PC:

2. Schick Hydro Silk TrimStyle Razor & Bikini Trimmer
Schick has really made a name for themselves in the art of shaving, and the Schick Hydro remains one of the most popular razors on the market. It should, then, come as no surprise that they are also taking the bikini area by storm, too.
The Schick Hydro Silk For Women Trimstyle Razor and Bikini Trimmer is a simple device that will help you keep your bikini area perfectly smooth without any of the unwanted after effects, and it does it all in style.
This Hydro is double-sided. The pink-and-teal TrimStyle for Women is a disposable razor at one end and an electric razor at the other. It’s small, convenient and inexpensive.
The top of this Schick product is a four-blade razor with a fairly-wide pivoting head. Like the other razors on our list, the pivoting action is designed to follow the curves of a woman’s body faithfully to get into difficult-to-reach areas while minimizing nicks and shaving bumps, and the Hydro does it well – not perfectly, but well. Please see below for details on which replacement blades to buy.
The bottom of the TrimStyle for Women is a bikini trimmer which is powered by an AAA battery and flips open for easy use. There are adjustments you can make on the trimmer’s comb to choose from three different lengths for your hair, and you also have the choice to remove the comb completely to trim as close to the skin as possible (and then finish with the razor if desired).
The Schick is waterproof with a contoured rubber handle so it can be used anywhere. And with no attachments or cords to worry about, it’s the simplest of our top four choices to toss into a purse or backpack so you can do touchup work wherever you go.
When you are looking to complete a simple trim, you turn on the razor, pick your desired length, then smooth the trimmer over the area until you achieve your desired look. Once you have trimmed, if you so desire, you can then flip the razor over to finish with a close shave.
The Schick Hydro Silk is perfect for the person who just wants a tool for the bikini area and does not expect it to be used anywhere else on the body. More detail on the Schick for Women Trimstyle Razor & Bikini Trimmer:
Check Schick Hydro Silk for Women Price On Amazon Replacement Blades for the Schick Hydro SilkYou can choose between two types of blades when buying replacement cartridges for the razor end; the Ultra Smooth blades moisturize the skin with Jojoba and Acai Berry conditioning strips, and the Sensitive Skin blades have what the company only says are “hypoallergenic ingredients.” |
3. Bikini Shaper and Trimmer From Panasonic ES246AC
Utilizing 2 double-A batteries (not included), this tiny trimmer is more powerful than it looks. It has been a top-rated bikini shaver since 2015, and there is a good reason for that. You can alter the position of the razor head to five different points, making it easy to manipulate the razor into the curves and crevices of the bikini line.
The angled trimmer head is also rather thin, making it even easier to access the smaller areas of the bikini region. It stands at only one-inch wide but packs a lot of power in its tiny frame.
The adjustable head is a nice touch that many other razors do not have. The ability to position the head of the razor for your unique body makes the entire shaving process hassle-free, and that is something worth getting excited over.
If you are looking to get a complete clean shave, this isn’t the razor for you, but if you’re looking for a neat trim with easily adjustable lengths, you’ll want to try this Panasonic. The razor can be customized to provide 1/8 of an inch thickness to 5/8ths of an inch.
If you are looking for a slightly closer shave, you can also remove the trimmer head, and you’ll get a smoother feel, but there will still be a bit of stubble. This razor is really designed to trim the bikini region for a neat, well-groomed look. A completely hairless line should not be expected.
While this may be a niche razor that really is intended for use on the bikini line only it is a great one to have in your arsenal. While Panasonic decided to make this trimmer a “one-trick pony”. It does that trick exceedingly well, and it is rare to find a razor that works this well on the bikini line, so it’s worth a little splurge. More detail on the Panasonic ES246C Bikini Trimmer:

4. Braun Silk-épil FG1100 Bikini Hair Electric Shaver, Styler and Trimmer
Braun is largely considered a behemoth in the shaving market. It is one of the most popular electric razor brands in the market, and now Braun has moved into the bikini market as well. Their Silk-Epil offering does everything it promises to do, and it comes with a ton of customizing attachments that will get the job done.
This is a feminine-looking, precision tool specifically for styling the bikini line.
The shaver has a “precision head” which gives you the ability to delicately shave or style the hair in your private areas; there are also ten included templates for nearly every shape or design you might want to sculpt – your imagination (or that of your partner) is the only limit to what you can do with the Braun styler.
Then there is a slim, T-shaped head for trimming the bikini line so it’s absolutely perfect, following the curves of your body to neatly remove hair from that sensitive area without nicks, cuts or irritation. There are also two different combs (5mm and 8mm) you can attach to make sure the hair in specific areas is all trimmed to the exact same length.
The FG1100 can also be used for close detail work on other parts of your body; the high-precision head is particularly well-suited for styling your eyebrows. The Silk-épil is powered by a single AAA battery, so you will have to keep a supply on hand.
The Groom+Style review team can’t find a single argument against this unit as a small, effective way to keep the bikini area styled and neat. Looking at the Braun Silk-épil FG1100 Bikini Hair Styler and Trimmer:

5. Braun Silk-Epil 7 7-561 Complete Bikini Styling Kit
If you like the idea of the Braun FG 1100 but want “more”, then the Braun Silk-Epil 7 gives you just that! You get the Braun FG 1100 plus an epilator, shaver and trimmer. It is more expensive than just buying the Braun FG 1100 but is a great investment.
A great epilating, shaving trimming and styling kit. Looking at the Braun Silk-épil 7 Bikini Hair Electric Shaver, Epilator, Styler and Trimmer:

6. Philips Norelco Bodygroom Series 7100 – Men’s Bodygroomer
The single biggest complaint made about female bikini trimmers is that they are not as reliable as the equivalent male grooming products. Groom+Style thinks there is probably a hint of truth in this – although members of our team for art of shaving have been happily using the Panasonic ES2216PC and Braun FG1100 for years. This might be more related to the fact that the product manufacturers think that men, interestingly enough, are willing to invest more in electronic grooming products (maybe due to men being used to spending substantial amounts for their electric face shavers).
Either way, when our female testers at Groom+Style put the top-rated male body groomer to the test, they found it to be highly effective for shaving and trimming the bikini area, legs, and armpits. The Philips Norelco Series 7100, which functions as a shaver and trimmer, is similar in performance to the Panasonic ES2216PC. However, at roughly double the price, it feels more durable and includes additional features like a back shaver.
Please: Check Philips Norelco Bodygroom Series 7100 Price on Amazon or follow this link to read more about the Philips Series 7000 and the other top male body groomers available |
7. Philips HP6378 Bikini Perfect Deluxe Trimmer
The Philips HP6378 is unique (ok, except for the Braun Silk-Epil 7 7-561 at #4a) on our list because it not only does nice work trimming and shaping bikini-line hair, it can also epilate by means of a dedicated attachment. In fact, this Philips unit has six different attachments, several for the eyebrows and the rest for “down there.”
The good-looking Bikini Perfect Deluxe starts with a precision trimmer, allowing you to groom the bikini line comfortably and to your exact specifications; to help with that task, there is also a precision comb which lets you select one of five settings to choose the length you’d like the hair to be, anywhere from 2mm to 10mm.
Then, there’s a micro-razor attachment to clean up, giving you a close shave along the bikini lines to get rid of any remaining stubble, and avoiding the stubborn problem of irritation or rashes thanks to the micro-razor’s hypoallergenic foil.
The game-changer is the epilator attachment which allows you to remove hairs from their roots, giving you weeks before you have to worry about them again.
The two eyebrow attachments for the Philips HP6378 are the eyebrow comb, which can trim each eyebrow to a perfect length, and the micro-trimmer designed to shape your eyebrows to perfection (which can also be used to remove single hairs in your bikini area as well).
The package also comes with an exfoliating glove, illuminating tweezers, and a carrying case.
The trimmer works on a rechargeable battery and is a wet/dry model which can be used in the shower and then just rinses clean.
The Bikini Perfect Deluxe is the most expensive unit on our list, and that’s one reason it doesn’t rank higher. We also didn’t think it was quite as good in dealing with pubic hair as the two products above it, and we were a bit put off by its required 10-hour charging time.
Note: If you like the Philips product range but do not want the epilator (Philips HP6376 has the microshaver and trimmer but no epilator) or don’t want a rechargeable option (Philips Bikini Genie BRT383 is a trimmer) then there are some various options for you – see more details below.
Despite its higher price and long charging time the epilating function that’s included with this trimmer is an extremely welcome feature and may make the Philips the right tool for you. Taking a closer look at the Philips HP6378 Bikini Perfect Deluxe Trimmer:

8. Remington WDF5030 Wet & Dry Women’s Rechargeable Electric Foil Shaver
The Groom+Style review team was intrigued by this four-blade shaver because of its unusual open-blade system. Combined with an angled head that stays flush to the skin however you hold the razor, the open blades deliver a very close, satisfying shave.
As you’d expect from a Remington, this is a foil model with floating heads. The foils are designed with what the company calls “Lift Logic,” allowing the shaver to capture and cut hairs that are different lengths and growing at different angles, all in the same pass. The flexing dual-sided trimmer that sits in front of the blades also helps by prepping longer hairs to be gobbled up. Speaking of the design, it was created specifically for the contours of a woman’s body so the shave is much more satisfying and effective than the one you’d get from a man’s razor.
There are thoughtful extras built into the WDF5030, too. An almond oil strip cools and nourishes the skin as you shave. The blades are treated with an antimicrobial additive that prevents the growth of bacteria. There is a built-in trimmer and an included bikini comb for use in sensitive areas. The handle is non-slip and the razor is hypoallergenic. And of course, since this is a 100% waterproof wet/dry shaver it can be used in the shower or bath with or without gel.
You get about 30 minutes of shaving time with the rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
Remington has designed a terrific wet/dry shaver for every area of a woman’s body; it delivers a smooth, close shave at a very reasonable price. Specifications of the Remington WDF5030 Wet & Dry Women’s Rechargeable Electric Foil Shaver:

9. Cleancut PS335 T-Shape Personal Shaver
Note: a model from previous years which has been replaced by the more effective Braun Silk-épil FG1100 or even Philips Bikini Genie BRT383.
The Cleancut T-Shape Personal Shaver is a simple, but effective trimmer that will get you the shave you are after without all the bells and whistles. If you are the kind of consumer that really prefers the simpler things in life, this razor will fit your bill.
Sure, it doesn’t have a ton of floating heads or a hefty handle. It doesn’t come with a carrying case or anything like that, but it gets the job done and it gets it done right.
The T-shape shaver is slender. The handle is roughly the width of an electric toothbrush, and it curves up delicately into an extremely thin, easy-to-maneuver head. There aren’t several trim levels, but you can adjust your trim based on how hard you press down on the razor.
When a company’s own marketing material touts a bikini razor as being perfect for “landing strips” and “Brazilians,” you know they’re confident in their product’s performance and comfort. The Cleancut T-Shape, for the most part, delivers.
The PS335 does leave some stubble which Cleancut recommends cleaning up with one of their other shavers, the ES412 or ES1080. That’s because there are no other attachments or options with this unit; it depends solely on its “ultrafine comb-style” cutting head.
The bottom line is that you get a close trim along the bikini line without cuts or nicks; you’ll do best to first trim any long hairs and then use some powder or baby oil on the skin as you trim, because the shaver is not intended to clean out forests and there is the possibility of some irritation after using the T-Shape.
The slender, curving design of this model makes it well-suited to match the curves of your body in tender areas, and its slim handle makes it easy to maneuver. It requires a single battery which is described as “nonstandard” and comes included with the unit; we haven’t seen any information about being able to replace the battery, so we’re assuming that when the battery has run its course, you’ll have to purchase a new razor.
There are no extras with the Cleancut, and it’s not waterproof so you can’t use it in the shower.
Groom+Style don’t think it is the very best razor or trimmer on the market, and we think the Schick Hydro is better value. But it is the smallest and lightest of the models we’ve listed, and it’s the fifth best bikini trimmer on the market. With so many competitors out there, that’s not a bad place to be. Frequently Ask Questions
Is a bikini Trimmer better than shaving?
Bikini trimmers or shavers are functioned to eliminate unwanted hairs. However, if you want to have a smooth shave with a cut that has a particular length, then a bikini trimmer is better. As also has been found to have less irritation compared to regular shaving products. However, if you want a quick removal and close that, a shaver is a good option. It’s the easiest way to get the cut area to be clean and bald. Both have their plus and minus, so they fit with your need and priority.
Do bikini trimmers leave stubble?
Yes, the blades will leave a little stubble, as bikini trimmers are not for someone who wants a perfect smoother outcome which completely clean. If you wish to clean shaving, then a razor is the choice. However, it is made like that for a reason. Bikini trimmers are produced like that to avoid hair shedding and razor irritation to the user, so it’s safe to use without worrying about getting wound.
Conclusion
Unwanted hairs can be a nuisance for many people, leading them to seek hair removal methods. When choosing a shaving or trimming product, it’s important to consider the advantages and disadvantages, as well as what you want to achieve with the hair. Very simple to comprehend. Very helpful information. I’ve really gotten tired of using manual shaves… So tired of having bumbs añd irritation. Thank you for this article. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
This and the “how to shave pubic hair” article have been extremely helpful! I’m interested in going totally bare, but have found manual razors hard to operate on labia majora….is epilating there a thing? or is it that skin too sensitive / it’s too painful?
Hi Erika,
Great you found these articles helpful.
Shaving with a blade on the labia majora definitely requires a steady hand – it can certainly be done with a lot of patience and practice. Shaving with an electric shaver is a safer option, but the results will not last as long.
Epilating is definitely possible, but I would suggest waxing is something to consider first. They are effectively the same i.e. you are removing the hairs from the root, but epilating would be more of a slow (very slow burn), while waxing is fast (think pulling of a bandaid really fast).
Please check out our article below, and do let me know if you have any follow up questions.

This article is amazing. I am definitely interested in the Panasonic Close Curves… but if I happened to get a little lazy… should I be using the guard first to trim longer hair, then remove the guard for a closer shave? Just curious in terms of hair length limitations with the electric shavers.
Hi Katie,
Thanks for the kind words.
Yes, it is always advisable to trim first (working down towards the shortest trimmer setting) before shaving (the trimming step is very quick in fact). This way you will get the fastest and closest shave.
This 2 step process is very normal. For example, people who shave their head typically buy 2-in-1 products that have a trimmer and shaver components. Trimming to the lowest setting first ensures the shave will be as fast and smooth as possible.
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
Lisa
Thank you SO SO SO much for this article! I’ve been wanting a women’s razor and trimmer for awhile and just dint know where to start. It was extremely helpful to know what I was looking for, for what I want to achieve. I’ve actually decided to go with the Philips Satinshave prestige women’s electric shaver cordless with trimmer BRL170/60. This one doesn’t have the epilator which is fine because I wasn’t looking for that feature. You didn’t review that one but upon my search I came across it on Amazon for $54. I decided to go with the Philips based on my husbands experience with their razors and grooming products, so I felt safe with there products. I was tempted to go a little cheaper but some of those others from brands I’m not familiar with looked risky and the others like the Remington and Panasonic looked a little to bulky. Wish me luck, Thanks again.
Hi Shameeca,
Great that the article helped.
We have heard great things about the Philips SatinShave, we hope it treats you well.

Hi , I’m assuming it was just ladies testing the different trimmers . I may have missed it in the comments but it appears this question hasn’t been asked . Any idea how the Panasonic Close Curves would work for manscaping ? Specifically, as bare as you dare ? Marty.
Hi Martin,
Great to hear from you.
We actually have tested some of these trimmers on a few of the men in the team, to see how they performed – as men typically have thicker and denser body hair. The Panasonic ES2216PC performed admirably. You do need to trim as short as possible (using the guard) before proceeding to shave…

I am not able to decide between a trimmer and a razor, which one works better ??? which one is good for skin ??? which will give smooth skin , which will remove hair completely ???
Hi Trishala,
Thanks for the question.
A good trimmer will simply cut hair (depending on the model of trimmer purchased) to a minimum length of say 1mm (then if you have a guard on the trimmer it will trim to longer lengths as well) – so a trimmer will not cut hair extremely close.
An electric bikini shaver/razor will cut the hair close to the skin. An electric bikini shaver/razor will not cut as close as a manual blade, but has advantages in terms of convenience and reduced ingrown hairs etc.
If you want to remove hair completely the best option is laser hair removal (or electrolysis). For less permanent hair removal you can also try waxing.
The following article talks you through most of these points in detail – hope this is helpful.

venus razor is good for smoothness and clean
Thanks for the article! I’m interested in the Panasonic at #1 but I’m looking to do styled shapes like featured in #4 and am worried bc the Panasonic is so much wider than the others, will it have the precision I’m looking for?
Thanks again,
Jessie
Hey Jessie,
Thanks for the great question.
You could still do detailed styled shapes with the Panasonic ES2216PC if you had some pubic hair shaping stencils. I think some solid plastic shapes would work best, as you could hold the shapes in place while you first trim and then shave around the area (of course, there is nothing stopping you from making your own, you would just have to take a bit more time, if they are made from paper, when shaving). There will be a limit to how detailed the shapes will be as you do not have the detailed trimmer that is available in the Braun Silk-Epil 7 7-561 Complete Bikini Styling Kit, but the results should be pretty good.
Some example pubic hair shaping stencils can be found via this link to Amazon -> https://geni.us/bikini_shaper_stencil
Hope this helps.

Hi, great article!
I am after a combined trimmer and shaver for a Hollywood style with literally everything off, so am swaying towards the Phillips Norelco 7100 as the head on the Panasonic Close Curves looks quite wide. Do you know if the foil shaver on the Phillips Norelco will be suitable to shave the ‘inside’ hairs, i.e. the hairs on the Labia Majora?
Many thanks
Hi SeaJay,
Thanks for the great question.
Yes, the foil shaver on the Phillips Norelco 7100 will work very effectively on the labia majora. As there are lots of folds and excess skin you will need to find a technique that works for you (irrespective of the shaving device that is employed). The following article linked below should have some helpful hints for you.
https://groomwithstyle.com/how-to-shave-pubic-hair/

Hello,
Thank you so much for the article. I’m very new and inexperienced with this so I would like some recommendations. I’m really hairy but I simply just want to trim the bikini area (not too short but just neat and nice:)!) I read all of your comments and saw that you said the 1st option would be the best. Nevertheless, I’m not sure if I would make use of the shaver so I wonder if it’s worth spending more on that though I only need the trimmer (I would totally do if you think I should!). Not for the bikini part but would you recommend the Veet cream or shaving for the rest of the body? Then I might just go for the 1st Panasonic one.
Regards!
Hi July,
If you were just after a trimmer, then I would suggest the Bikini Shaper and Trimmer From Panasonic ES246AC – it is a very reasonably priced and reasonable quality trimmer, that is perfect for the bikini area.
We talk about all the different hair removal options in the article below, including depilatory creams like Veet. If you are considering hair removal on other parts of your body it is worthwhile weighing up the pros/cons of each method.

For a complete list of electric body groomers you can check out this article – these products will work just as well for women.

Hope this helps a bit, and do let us know if you have any follow up questions.

Hello! Which electric razor do you think is the best for a close Brazilian style shave that is delicate enough to not cause any nicks? I know you have to be extra careful in sensitive areas but I’m always terrified using some razors that seem like they’ll easily cut. I never get a close shave. Thanks!
Hi Elle,
Thanks for your question.
We have a few great resources which look at all the possible options available to get a close shaved look. In short, an electric shaver is going to be more convenient and the more expensive model you buy the closer the shave and “safer” it will be. Having said that, an electric shaver is not going to get as close as a blade or as smooth as a wax etc (and the shaving results in turn with not last as long). Then you have other options such as laser hair removal etc…We explain this in detail in the articles linked below.
If you are still after a reasonably priced electric shaver that will do a pretty good/safe job then the Panasonic Close Curves Electric Shaver for Ladies ES2216PC is a great choice. Funnily enough a lot of the men’s body groomers seem to be made a bit sturdier, and perform very well, compared to the female designed products, so if you are interested in spending a bit more you could check out the male products via this link below and think about the Philips Norelco Bodygroom Series 7100 – Men’s Bodygroomer.

Is there a razor for shaving the inner labia? Without knowing technics terms, I want to shave the lip area and the underside of the lip. Vulva major n minor? Lol
Hi Pamela,
Thanks for the question.
Pubic hair will grow on the Labia Majora (bigger outer lips) and Mons Pubis. I am not a doctor but I would say it would be uncommon for pubic hair to grow on the Labia Minora (much smaller inner lips). As the Labia Majora are quite round and have a large surface area pubic hair on the Labia Majora can quite easily seem to cover the whole area, and many women choose to groom.
You have a few options with this hair, and all are perfectly fine as long as you are making an empowered choice: do absolutely nothing, trim the hair, shave with a blade, shave with an electric razor, professional electrolysis, professional laser hair removal, epilation, wax or use a depilatory cream. See the links below for more details on these options.
The key benefits of using an electric shaver are ease of use, very reasonably priced, reduced risk of ingrown hairs relative to shaving, and great results. The key downsides are that the hair will grow back faster than with waxing, laser, electrolysis etc.
If you decide that using an electric shaver is right for you then we would focus on the following products:

– Philips Norelco Bodygroom Series 7100 – Men’s Bodygroomer

Hi Lisa,
Great article! What do you think of Veet Sensitive Precision Beauty Styler Expert (waterproof version) and Philips Bodygroom Series 1000 With Skin Protector BG105/10 for bikini line and underarms?
Thanks!
Hey Abby,
Thanks for the question.
No one in the team has personally tested the Veet Sensitive Precision Beauty Styler Expert, but it looks like a reasonable product. The Braun Silk-épil FG1100 trimmer is slightly cheaper and will trim/shave closer without the guards (the blades are a lot finer) – which might be useful? The Veet trimmer has the specialized eyebrow shaper (the Braun Silk-epil can also be used to shape eyebrows) but not sure if this is a functionality you are after.
You can read more about the Veet trimmer on Amazon via this link -> http://geni.us/veettrimmer
We have tested the Philips Norelco Bodygroom Series 1100 and really liked it for bikini grooming – you can read more in our detailed review below.
http://groomwithstyle.com/art-of-shaving/5-best-body-groomers-for-men/
If you were just after a simple bikini and underarm trimmer then all 3 products mentioned above would do the trick. The Braun Silk-épil and Philips Series 1000 would probably be slightly less hassle than the Veet (which has more shaver heads), and the Philips feels slightly sturdier than the Braun Silk-epil.
Hope this helps a bit and do let me know if you have any follow up questions.
Kind Regards,
Lisa
Oh, I´m sorry. I must have gotten it wrong. I thought I read that Panasonic Close Curves Electric Shaver for Ladies ES2216PC did not go so close as 2mm :O
In first hand i want a trimmer that can fix the bikini line and pubic area. It´s a plus if it can shave the underarms and legs aswell. What´s the closest you can get this days?
Hi Smilla,
You are right if you use the included guard on the Panasonic ES2216PC you have the option of 3 lengths, 2mm, 5mm and 8mm. However, you can simply take the guard off and use the pop-up trimmer – that will trim to (estimate) about 0.2mm.
The Panasonic ES246AC with the guard has 5 trim settings (3mm, 6mm, 9mm, 12mm and 15mm) – without the guard it will trim to about 0.3 to 0.4mm.
Do let us know if you have any more questions.
Kind Regards,
Lisa
Hi!
I would like to know the best Bikini Razor and Bikini Trimmer who trims the closest to the skin. Does anyone comes below 2 mm?
Hi Smilla,
Thanks for the question. Yes, most of the trimmers on this list will trim well below 2mm. If you were after a trimmer for a larger area then please consider something like the Panasonic Close Curves ES2216PC or Panasonic ES246AC. If you were looking for a product for a smaller area (for detailing for) then focus on the Braun Silk-épil FG1100.
Hope this helps.
Kind Regards,
Lisa
Hi Lisa,
Thank you so much for your detailed descriptions! This has been by far the most useful resource I’ve found in helping me make this decision. Unfortunately, the Panasonic Close Curves Shaver (ES2216PC) ends up a lot more expensive on Amazon when shipped to Germany (when including shipping and import fees). I have searched on other sites and stores but I haven’t found anyone who carries it. So, after sadly discarding my first option, I’m left with:
Braun Silk-épil FG1100
Philips Genie BRT383/15 Bikini Trimmer
Veet Sensitive Precision Beauty Styler
I have sensitive skin and I’m looking for a really clean shave in the bikini area. Wet/dry use, portability, and charging stations are a plus! Between those three, which one do you prefer? Grr, I hate that neither of these can really be used for other areas (especially armpits). I appreciate your response!
Regards from Germany,
Andy
Hi Andrea,
Thanks for your question on Groom+Style.
That is unfortunate that the ES2216PC is not available on amazon.de. Can I suggest you have a look at the #1 and #2 options below and see if they will work for your needs. Please be aware however that there is always a trade off between a close shave and irritating your skin. The #1 and #2 would be the best option if you are willing to risk a bit of irritated skin (and have a closer shave) and want shavers that can be used on other parts of the body.
1) Braun Silk-épil Elektrischer Damenrasierer LS 5160, mit 3 Aufsätzen. Could use it on the legs, underarms and bikini area – and it is wet/dry. It has a built-in SoftStrip to gently stretch the skin and help hairs feel into the shaver.
Click on this link to read more on Amazon -> http://geni.us/braun5160
2) Remington WDF4840. Once again can be used on legs underarms and bikini area, wet/dry use, aloe vera strip to lessen irritation.
Click on this link to read more on Amazon -> http://geni.us/remingtonwdf4840
In regards to the other trimmers you suggested, focus on these if you want a trimmer/detailer, more than a shaver (trimming the hair short .5mm etc, which is good if you want to avoid irritation etc). We have listed them in order of functionality and quality based on your requirements. The #3 Philips is the only model that can be used in the wet.
3) Philips BRT383/15 BikiniGenie Bikini-Trimmer – wet dry
Click on this link to read more on Amazon -> http://geni.us/philipsbrt383
4) Braun Silk-épil FG1100 – not wet use
Click on this link to read more on Amazon -> http://geni.us/braunfg1100
5) Veet Sensitive Precision Beauty Styler – not wet use
Click on this link to read more on Amazon -> http://geni.us/veetsensitivetrimmer
Hope this helps a little bit, please let us know if you have any other questions.
Kind Regards,
Lisa
I like hair down there, but I like to keep it trimmed (not shaved) – I don’t want to be bare by any means. Trimming with scissors leaves me horribly itchy for days. Which shaver is best for a trim that leaves some length?
Hi Amelia,
You have a few options. From the top 5 list above you could consider:
1) Bikini Shaper and Trimmer From Panasonic ES246AC – you can trim from 1/8 of an inch to 5/8th of an inch (about 3mm to 16mm).
2) Schick Quattro for Women Trimstyle Razor & Bikini Trimmer – 3 different trimming length settings.
If you want some additional options you can also check out the Philips Norelco Bodygroom Series 7100, from our best body groomers list linked below.

Can u pls tell me which one of the trimmer is good for bikini areas and underarms
Hi Chitty,
Please consider our no.1 recommendation the Panasonic Close Curves Shaver (ES2216PC), it will work very well on the bikini area and underarms (as well as legs etc.).
Kind Regards,
Lisa
Hi,
I want a really close shave on my intimate area. Don’t want trimmed pubic hair.
My skin is soft an hair growth is thik .I need completely clean bikini area.
Can u suggest a good shaver for me….
Hi Nimmy,
We would recommend the Panasonic Close Curves Electric Shaver for Ladies ES2216PC. It has a trimmer attachment which we suggest you use first to reduce the hair length, then you can proceed shaving with the foil razor.
Please be aware however, that although the ES2216PC with shave nicely, it will not be as close as a manual razor or waxing. If you want information about these methods then you can read the articles linked below.

I’m diving into the world of electric shavers/trimmers because I am done attempting to do the impossible to reduce the redness, itchiness, irritation and ingrown hairs that come with both waxing and shaving my vulva (seriously, nothing worked). I’m trying to decide between Panasonic Close Curves (ES2216PC), Panasonic Bikini Shaper & Trimmer (ES246AC), and Panasonic Ladies Electric Shaver (ES2207P). The last one, the ladies electric shaver, is the one with the best reviews on amazon but I’m not so confident with its work on the bikini area. So I guess I’m leaning towards the other two despite what the amazon reviews say because I’m guessing those are skewed because of its use for leg shaving. I do not mind not getting a close shave, 3mm in length is fine, which is why I can’t make up my mind between Close Curves and the the Bikini Shaper & Trimmer. Any recommendations or thoughts? I’m also open to more suggestions. I have really sensitive skin and thick curly hair it seems (very prone to ingrown hairs and irritation) and I wouldn’t mind a close shave but I’m down for just a trimmer too.
Hi Lila,
Thanks for your question.
I think you are right to forget the Panasonic Ladies Electric Shaver (ES2207P) for your requirements. It does not have a flexible head (and as it has a biggish shaver head size, and as you want to use it on the vulva) might make manoeuvrability a slight issue.
For those who want to read more about this shaver you can follow the link below.
http://geni.us/bikinirazortrimes2207p
Out of the other 2 shavers you mentioned, I like them both.
If you just wanted to use the razor to trim your hair on the vulva then you could save yourself a few dollars and just go for the Panasonic Bikini Shaper & Trimmer (ES246AC). The trim will be to 3mm (1/8th of an inch) – and even less if you remove the guard. The ES246AC is not rechargeable (you need 2 double A batteries), but is waterproof and very light weight. You can read more in our article above, or follow the link to read more on amazon:
http://geni.us/bikinirazortrim6
If you think you might want to use the bikini trimmer to shave your legs etc. then you should go for the Panasonic Close Curves (ES2216PC). It comes with the bikini attachment, so you can trim safely, and it has a pivoting shaver head which provides a bit more comfort etc. It’s rechargeable and is waterproof which is great. Once again you can read more in our article above or follow the link to read more on amazon.
http://geni.us/bikinirazortrim1
The negative reviews on amazon for all female shavers are typically due to reliability and durability. For whatever reason companies seem to be happier creating, cheaper, less durable female shavers. If you want a higher quality product, and are happy to spend more then there is no reason you cannot utilise a Male Bodygroomer product. You can read more about these in the link below. The Philips Norelco Bodygroom Series 7100 for example is a higher quality product (with a trimmer and shaving foil) – it will trim to 1/8th of an inch (3mm).

Good luck with your choice.

Lisa,
Thank you for your response. I already have the replacement foils and blades, so I am looking for the frame. The part number that you sent to me was very helpful, but only two websites showed the part, and it was out of stock on both sites (including Panasonic). I will see if I can order one when they are available again. If not, I may try the Phillips Norelco Bodygroom that you mentioned. They have replacement parts listed on Amazon and several other sites.
-Kristin
Hi Kristin,
Sorry, to hear they are not available at the moment. Maybe try ringing Panasonic and seeing what the timelines are.
Kind Regards,
Lisa
I have the Panasonic shaver, and it works exactly as described. I absolutely love it. My one complaint is that I cannot find a replacement shaver head. After about 9 months to a year, the trimmers became dull, and it started to catch and pull the hairs instead of cutting them. I have found replacement blades and foils, but I cannot find either replacement trimmers or entire shaver heads. I hate to have to buy a whole new shaver every year, and if that is the only alternative, then I would switch to a different shaver. If anyone knows how to fix this problem, I would love to hear it.
Hi Kristin,
Great to hear you like the Panasonic ES2216/PC – the replacement foil and blade combo is available on amazon via the link below.
http://geni.us/es2216FoilBlade
If you are after the replacement Frame (the head which includes the long hair trimmer and which the foil and blade sit in) then you should be looking for the part number WES2216P0048 – just search on google for this part number and you should be able to find a few options.
Good luck.
Kind Regards,
Lisa
Can any of these shave my butt hole? Serious answers only. I’m used to waxing. I can’t ignore this area!
Hi Lilith,
No electric shaver will give you the silky smooth feel of waxing. However, if you want an alternative to waxing then can I suggest the Philips HP6378 Bikini Perfect Deluxe Trimmer – with its narrow head and multiple attachments you should have no trouble taking care of the most sensitive areas of your body.
BTW – have you seen Groom+Style’s Brazilian waxing article? If not check it out here.

I’m thinking of spending a bit more and going for a men’s electric shaver after a recommendation from a female friend (the Panasonic ES-LT41-K). I’ve read that men’s razor’s are better quality, and longer lasting, where women have to purchase much more frequently. It’s kind of like ‘pink-washing’ if you think about it. Any thoughts?
Hi Emily,
This is a very interesting point you raise, and at the end of the day you are right, a high quality men’s facial shaver should be able to tackle most jobs on the female body. There are however some subtleties that women should consider before diving in a buying a men’s facial shaver for use on the their body. You need to decide whether you after an electric shaver for your legs, bikini area or both? Also, how often will you be shaving i.e. will you let your hair grow out a little or are you very vigilant with your shaving?
For example, if we use the functionality available with the Panasonic ES2216PC ( http://amzn.to/2li9XfP ) to compare to the Panasonic ES-LT41-K ( http://amzn.to/2mxtA3z ) you might get a clearer idea of what you need to consider.
Contours to the body – both the Panasonic ES2216PC and Panasonic ES-LT41-K have a pivoting head which will allow the shavers to contour to the female body. The Panasonic ES2216PC has a slight advantage over the Panasonic ES-LT41-K, as it has 4 floating foils rather than 2, which might increase comfort when shaving the more sensitive areas.
Trimming – The Panasonic ES2216PC wins out over the Panasonic ES-LT41-K if you are interested in trimming the pubic area or bikini line. The Panasonic ES2216PC comes with a bikini trimming attachment which you might find handy. If you let your hair grow out sometimes you will find it handy to trim first before shaving. The Panasonic ES2216PC also has the option of a pop-up trimmer i.e. the front foil can be raised to trim harder to reach areas. The Panasonic ES-LT41-K does not enable you to easily trim larger areas (trim the legs first before shaving) and the pop up trimmer is not ideal for more sensitive areas.
Wet/dry – both the Panasonic ES2216PC and Panasonic ES-LT41-K operate in the wet.
So the key downsides of using men’s facial shavers on the female body is “comfort” and the quality of the trimming functions available. If you don’t see these as issues for your requirements then there is nothing stopping you from purchasing a quality men’s facial shaver. You can find more options here.
http://groomwithstyle.com/art-of-shaving/mens-top-5-best-electric-shaver-list/
If you are not keen on the Panasonic ES2216PC, and want other options then you might want to consider a body groomer like the Philips Norelco Bodygroom 7100 – http://amzn.to/2m0tH4u . This body groomer provides a trimmer and foil shaving option in the one unit, and is safe to use all over the body.
You can read more about body groomers here:

Hope this helps a little bit.

Hi,
thanks for the article! What I’d like to ask is, can I use these razors for the whole intimate area? I’d like to shave everything off (like really everywhere down there).
I’ve only used normal razors until now, but I’d like to try electrical ones, because I heard they’re better.
I’d be really happy about an answer 🙂
Esther
Hi Esther,
Thanks for the question. You can safely us a shaver like the Panasonic Close Curves all over your body – just be extra cautious and apply common sense (start with lighter pressure etc.) when shaving the pubic region. Using electrical shavers can have several benefits like less irritation and less ingrown hairs, however, the effect will not last as long.
We have some great guides to shaving the pubic area and performing a Brazilian wax.

I wanted to find a new type of bikini trimmer including an eyebrow trimmer but to no avail and I know there’s one out there: I’ve seen it advertised on the telly!
Hi Tina,
The Braun Silk-epil FG1100 and Philips HP6378 both have attachments for the bikini area and eyebrow. Feel free to consider those options.
Kind Regards,
Lisa
I tell my clients that want baby smooth skin to use a rotary foil shaver like the Hair eRazor. This type of shaver cuts hair under the foil, keeping the blade away from the delicate skin of the genital skin. This great little shaver will keep up a Brazilian wax in between visits, too.

These razors are NOT meant for baby smooth intimate areas. I own the panasonic. It barely shaves close for legs and underarm. My intimate area? Nooo. The popup razor would murder the sensitive spots.
Great list! I especially like the Panasonic shaver at #1 – it’s very versatile and easy to use.
